About the project
Built because the stories are worth keeping.
I’m Denis, and I develop Atlavium in Nikolassee, Berlin. It’s a personal project close to my heart, built for the worlds and character stories that follow me home from the gaming table. Perhaps yours will join them.
Notes grew into a tool of their own
My game master kept his world in OneNote. The detail we needed was often tucked away in another notebook or subsection. I wanted to help him find what he had written about places, people and events. That became a small document search called NovDoc and, after several new starts, today’s Atlavium.
From NovDoc to AtlaviumNot only for game masters
After each session, I continue my character’s journal and record what he has actually learned. In the version 1.0 article, I describe a fitting mismatch: I had played him for more than two years, while only eight days had passed in his world. My character still needed to remember his encounters, even when I had long forgotten the details myself.
Two years with one character, eight days in his worldCome along as I keep building.
On the blog I share ideas, decisions and stories from the table. The changelog covers small repairs and bigger additions. Hearing about your group helps me understand what would be useful aboard next. I can’t promise a fixed timetable along the way.
Some of the most useful observations come from people who have not memorized my buttons. My best friend tried Atlavium without a role-playing background and showed me where getting started was difficult. You do not need specialist terms or a perfect bug report to help me.
How a fresh pair of eyes changed the builderWhy an airship?
Your Atlavium is the magical airship that carries your worlds. Each Realm has its own Compendium. Among the shelves waits your Keeper: an old, wise and friendly librarian you can turn to with a question.
The project used to be called Chronicle Keeper. You’ll still find that name in older blog posts and changelogs. They’re part of this airship’s story, so their original titles stay.
Why the airship stayedLet’s have a chat.
Drop by Discord and say hello. Tell me about your world, share an idea or ask when you get stuck. You’ll be talking to me, Denis.
If something isn’t working, we can take a look together. A few words about what you were trying to do give me a place to start. Keep your private game content and account details to yourself, of course.
A home for your Realm
There’s already room for your first story.
Create your first Realm, add two characters and record what connects them. Your Atlavium can grow with your stories. Compendium features will remain free within your granted allowances.
