Open Compendium export
Your stories travel with you.
Compendium export lets you download the contents of your Realms. You can then use your notes and images outside Atlavium, too.
Choose your Realms
Open Compendium export in your profile. Select one, several or all of your Realms and request a package. You can have one package prepared at a time.
You get a notification
Atlavium prepares your package in the background. After a while, it will be ready and you will get a notification in the app. You can find the download in the export area.
The finished package is available to download for seven days. The included export report tells you what is in it and whether there were any problems.
What is in the package
Each Realm gets its own folder. Your texts are saved as Markdown files. Images and other stored files are included, too. JSON files describe how your content is organised and connected.
Calendars, Campaigns, Quests, Sessions and Whiteboards are also included. Pages and Profiles keep their saved template versions. Once you have unpacked the ZIP, you can read your notes in a text editor.
The format is open
The specification explains how the files are organised and connected. It also includes examples and JSON Schemas for working with the data. Your export comes with the matching specification. You can still look up older format versions.
Your content comes with you
The export is for the contents of your Realms. Account settings and administrative data stay in the app. Files that you have only linked to on external sites are not downloaded.
The package may also contain hidden fields from your Pages. Check its contents before sharing it with others.
Import is planned next
Importing a package back into Atlavium is not available yet. That is what I plan to work on next.
A home for your Realm
There’s already room for your first story.
Create your first Realm, add two characters and record what connects them. Your Atlavium can grow with your stories. Compendium features will remain free within your granted allowances.
